Southampton, Sept 7: England captain Alastair Cook struck an unbeaten 80 off 63 balls to guide his team to a seven-wicket win over India in a rain-affected second one-day international at the Rose Bowl on Tuesday.
England chased down its target of 188 with five balls to spare in a match reduced to 23 overs a side because of rain, opener Cook leading from the front by hitting five fours and a six in a man-of-the-match knock.
The Indians, who have yet to win a single match in any format on their tour of England, made 187-8, with big-hitting opener Ajinkya Rahane hitting 54 to continue his good recent form.
England is 1-0 up in the five-match series going into the third game at The Oval on Friday. The first match was washed out on Saturday.
